Urgent action: Get Immediate Help
Choose the shortest safe exit
- Ordinary mismatch: “Thanks for talking. I am going to go now” is enough.
- Boundary pressure: state the boundary once only if you want and it feels safe, then leave when it is ignored.
- Immediate danger or coercion: leave without a farewell. Do not stay to persuade, investigate, or gather more evidence.
After you leave
Decide what the situation actually requires. Blocking can manage future interaction according to verified product behavior. Reporting can notify the service about possible rule-breaking. If credentials or payment information were exposed, secure the affected account through a genuine channel. If threats or image abuse occurred, use specialized help.
Preserve less, not more
Keep only safe, necessary context requested by an official product or outside reporting path. Do not recontact the person, publicly repost private content, or download suspected illegal material. A redacted time and factual description may be more appropriate than a harmful image.
Reset without judging yourself
Move to a place where you feel more in control, tell a trusted person if helpful, and pause before another chat. These are grounding choices, not mental-health treatment. The fact that a conversation began normally does not obligate you to stay after it changes.

Match the follow-up to what happened
| After-exit situation | Useful next choice |
|---|---|
| The chat was simply not a fit | Pause or continue matching when ready |
| A boundary was repeatedly ignored | Block and consider reporting under current rules |
| A link, code, or account detail was involved | Secure the affected account through a genuine channel |
| Money was sent | Contact the payment provider promptly through a known route |
| Threats, coercion, or intimate-image abuse occurred | Stop contact and use specialized or local official help |
The table is a router, not legal advice or a promise that any outcome can be reversed.
