DIFFERENT PLACES, ONE CONVERSATION AT A TIME

Conversations With People From Around the World

ChitChatVideo offers random one-on-one video matching with people you have not met before. A specific country, language, background, culture, or type of person is not guaranteed, and the public site does not promise a location filter.

Worldwide is an open possibility, not a selector

The appeal is a conversation outside your usual circle. Random matching means the actual person and place are not chosen by this page. Do not treat “worldwide” as a fake live map, online count, or list of countries available now.

Use universal launchpads

Everyday routines without exact schedules; food without demanding cultural authority; music and media; hobbies; something recently learned; a small joy; or a non-identifying detail about the general area. Follow comfort rather than novelty.

Ask without assuming

“What is that like for you?” is more respectful than “Are people there always like that?” Do not infer nationality or language from appearance or accent. Use Questions About Culture and Cross-Cultural Conversations.

Keep location general

Time zones and places can be interesting without asking for a live address, neighborhood, workplace, school, or routine. Either person may keep location private.

Language practice is optional

If both people agree, an ordinary conversation can become a small speaking exercise. ChitChatVideo does not guarantee a chosen language, tutor, native speaker, or learning outcome. See Language Practice.

Global conversation still needs ordinary safety

Protect identifying details and assume visible content could be captured. Review the random video chat safety checklist.

Turn universal topics into mutual exchanges

Routine: “What is a small part of your day you enjoy?” then share your own. Food: “What is something you like eating?” without demanding a national dish. Media: “What have you watched or listened to recently?” Hobby: “What is a skill you enjoy practicing?” Place: “What kind of environment do you enjoy?” without asking for a live location. Small joy: “What improved your week?”

These topics work across many experiences because the participant chooses the level of detail.

Time-zone curiosity without tracking

If time comes up, ask “Is it earlier or later in your day?” rather than requesting a city and exact time. A person can describe morning, afternoon, or evening without identifying where they are.

Do not collect encounters

The purpose is a conversation, not a checklist of countries, accents, flags, or screenshots. Do not treat a person as a collectible proof of global reach.
